Toro Tribeca: Grabbing the Bull by its Horns!!

Don't let the bull fighting decor fool you, this is a French lounge and proud of it!

The Smyth Hotel (the newest chain of boutique hotels that specialize in sexing up hospitality) recently opened TORO, an underground lounge that pays homage to the town of Arles in Camargue. A region of South France that was made legendary for the Arts and the French tradition of Bull Fighting. Arles is more famously known however as a retreat for the likes of Vincent van Gogh, Pablo Picasso, Jean Cocteau, and Ernest Hemingway.

The vibrant red velvet, the leather details, the french tiling, and the dark wood boast the colors of the matador's traditional dress, and add an element of discreet elegance to the atmosphere. But its not all about sophistication here. The in-house DJ will keep you moving, and the cocktails sporting a French twist will have you coming back for more. This upbeat lounge is a much needed break from the typical and will no doubt attract an upper-crust eclectic group of New York City party-goer's.

Located on the corner of West Broadway and Chambers, under Plein Sud in Smyth Hotel.
